Welcome to Huntingcaliber.com!

Trust Your Equipment, So You Can Focus on the Shot

We’ve all been there, staring at pages and pages of product listings, trying to pick that perfect piece of gear. And then you go looking for advice and you find a bunch of articles that seem to be written by people that have never actually held a firearm. It’s frustrating.

Here at Huntingcaliber.com, we want to change that experience. We want to help you make the best decision possible when it comes time to pick up that new piece of gear.

And we aren’t interested in just convincing you to buy a piece of kit and sending you on your way. We are hunters, competition shooters, gunsmiths, outdoors people, former and active-duty military, and law enforcement professionals with decades of experience with all aspects of firearms, and we want to help give you the knowledge you need to make the best choice possible for your needs.

Huntingcaliber.com was founded when a few of us were trying to find some good advice online about which firearms products to buy and we were….less than impressed with some of the advice out there.

It didn’t take us long to realize that the sites at the top of Google’s search results weren’t publishing content written by hunters or shooters. What we found was a lot of content written by those good at marketing, not by those that have a passion for firearms and shooting sports.

And honestly, that pissed us off.

When it comes to firearms and firearms accessories, bad info can not only lead to wasted money, but it can put people’s lives in danger. We don’t think that’s right, so we made a commitment to only working with real-world experts with actual, relevant experience.

We decided to build a platform for those experts to share information with the firearms community.

The Hunting Caliber Process

And today Huntingcaliber.com has been joined by several former soldiers, instructors, competitors which feel a passion to impart their experience to the next generation of shooters.

How Our Writers Do It?

  • Researching: We are on the forums just like you. We follow real shooters, experts, and just plain ole gun nuts on YouTube just like you. The only difference is we are lucky enough to do this professionally and write off ammo purchases on our taxes (sometimes, and only for work-related reasons we promise).
  • Real World Training: We are constantly shooting. Many of our experts are instructors, range officers, or gun store owners. We keep our own skills sharp at the range, and we’re constantly learning from other subject matter experts through training classes so we can not only evaluate guns and gear effectively but also pass on the best possible advice to our readers.
  • Hands-On Testing: We thrive on getting out in the field and testing things for ourselves. So much of the info out there is from people just regurgitating product listings or shilling for their favorite retailers. We want to be different. We want to give real, first-hand accounts of product performance, based on actual use in the field. Unlike so many of these other sites, we actually use the products we recommend. And we think that makes all the difference.

Our Editorial and Review Process

  • We continuously seek out experts to get them on the Huntingcaliber.com Team.
  • Behind our expert writers is our vital team of techs, editors, artists, photographers, and marketers that help to keep our site running and provide you with the best experience.
  • We don’t use any kind of third-party Ads in order to give you the best experience possible.
  • To pay the cost of everything, we make money when you buy something with our affiliate links, but we only get a tiny commission and never take money or products in exchange for a positive review.

Our Promise to You

We promise to only ever offer you our honest opinions on everything we talk about here. We work with only the best writers to bring you the best info possible on everything from choosing the best rifles to how to make your own survival foods, and everything in between.

But Remember, We Need Your Help!

We are a relatively small group of people. We need you to hit up the comment sections and ask us questions about what you want to know about. We want to hear from you. We love our work and want to share our knowledge, but we can’t do it without you.
